Day 23: Kashgar
Yesterday we did the official tour of the city of Kashgar and we visited a few mausolea and the mosque (the area is populated only by people Uighur, a Muslim Turkic ethnic group).
while visiting the mausoleum of a prophet we met Goretta Casarotto (Renato Casarotto's widow), who was traveling along the Silk Road.
We are still in Kashgar as we anticipated the downhill from the base camp for a day due to bad weather, so pause in this city for a day longer than expected.
We spent the day like this: around the city alone, with a further visit to the bazaar and lunch in a place frequented only by locals, since from the point of view of hygiene left much to be desired, but two dumplings stuffed with meat and two skewers Sheep = o, 50 € (!), afternoon rest.
Tomorrow we leave to go to and the day after Tashkurgan finally left China for the trip back to the first leg. Today
